In dementia, the family does the caring. The health system is built around the patient; nobody looks after the person doing the work. 80% of care happens at home, usually carried by one untrained family member. When that person breaks down, the patient lands in the emergency room and in a care home years early. Kuidar+ puts a two-person care pod — a nurse and a gerontologist — alongside each family, over WhatsApp. Every family gets a written care plan, a medication safety review, daily check-ins, caregiver support groups, and help navigating SUS, health plans and benefits. We are non-clinical and work alongside the family's own doctor. AI is care-team leverage, not a chatbot replacing clinicians: care plans drafted from intake and reviewed by the nurse, voice notes transcribed, medication screened against Beers criteria, a 14-day case summary before every call, and 9,300 pages of curated dementia guidance the team queries in seconds. Every clinical decision stays with a person. A pod carrying 90 families today is built to carry 133. Medicare's GUIDE model turned this into a funded category in the US — Rippl raised $55M and was acquired in February 2026. None of them operate in Latin America. Brazil has 33 million people over 60, 95% WhatsApp penetration, clinical labour at a fifth of US cost, and a national dementia policy (Lei 14.878/2024) that created a mandate with no delivery capacity behind it.
